Big Hair & A Row Boat

My clever, hairy husband took part in his very first rowing regatta last weekend and I went along to support him. Regattas are generally full of well-to-do folk so I thought I'd make a bit of an effort and put my hair in some big rollers! Big hair definitely makes you feel a bit posher, yes? ;)

Despite feeling awesome with my bouncy hair, my anxiety was really, really high because I knew I'd potentially be spending the day either on my own or with people I didn't know in a place I had never been before. Fortunately Mr D is skilled in controlling my anxiety and made sure we parked close to where I would be sitting so I could use the car as a little safety net. As it turned out, none of the other rower's partners were there so it was just me (and about 200 other spectators)! Mr D and I found a good little spot for me to sit and in between doing boat-y things he came back to check on me and give me a smooch. Once I settled myself I actually rather enjoyed it. Mr D wasn't rowing until the very last race so I spent a couple of hours reading my Kindle, eating ice cream and getting caught up in the racing. I positioned myself on a little bridge so I could watch Mr D cross the finish line and somehow managed to become sandwiched between two sets of Eton parents which was...an experience! My bouncy hair definitely helped me get through that ;)

Cardigan from M&S
Leggings from Yours
Wide fit shoes from Tesco

I'm wearing an Illamasqua lipstick in Corrupt. It's a much paler shade of pink than I normally wear but I really love it. Even more so because I got it in their 50% off flash sale!
