Getting To Know Yoooouu

I've been tagged by the gorgeous Mel for a Liebster blog Award and this time, I'm going to do it! I've been tagged before but never quite got around to finishing the post but this has come at a really good time because I've been having a little crisis of confidence in my blog lately so hopefully this will give me a bit of a boost. (I really wanted to write boobs then, I don't know why...)

The purpose of the Liebster Award is to help out the smaller blog owners (under 200 followers) out there to get some recognition for the great job they do. I like this idea because I'm aware of so many smaller blogs who are just as incredible than huge blogs but don't get the recognition they deserve.

The Rules:
  1. Each person tagged must post 11 random facts about themselves.
  2. They must answer the 11 questions posted by the previous blogger.
  3. They must create 11 more questions to ask their tagged bloggers.
  4. They must tag 11 blogs with less than 200 followers.
  5. The bloggers must be told.
  6. No tag backs

11 Facts About Me:
  1. I was born in Belgium. My parents had lived there for about 9 years (I think) and had both myself and my older brother there. We moved to England when I was 18 months old so I don't remember it. According to my husband though I've been known to sleep talk in French which he puts down to my having heard it as much as English when I was little!
  2. I have more confidence, self esteem and love for my body now at a size 22/24 than I ever did as a size 14/16. I found a photo of my 16 year old self and was genuinely shocked at how small I was because I remember absolutely loathing my body for being fat.
  3. Until I met my lovely hairy husband I had no intention of ever getting married. I knew I wanted a family but I didn't think I wanted to be married. Then I met Mr D and he charmed me with his sneaky cheese nibbling from the fridge ways haha.
  4. Despite having generalised anxiety disorder and recurrent depressive disorder I am a genuinely happy and optimistic person. I smile a lot, find beauty in everything and everyone and truly believe that everything will be fine. Sometimes it makes me feel a bit overwhelmed and I wonder if that's why I'm so susceptible to depression.
  5. My mum is my best friend. There isn't anything I can't talk to her about and although we tend to start bickering if we spend more than 24 hours with eachother I wish very, very much that she lived closer so I could just pop round for a cup of tea and a chat.
  6. I really, really love stationery. I always have at least 3 pretty notebooks on the go at once. It's sad but I just REALLY LOVE STATIONERY.
  7. I hate having an untidy, unclean house but I also really hate cleaning. Really hate it. This leaves me in quite a conundrum most of the time.
  8. Penarth Pier in South Wales is my favourite place in the world.
  9. Christmas-time is my most favourite time of the year. I love all the festivities, the twinkly lights, the cold and how everyone seems to be that bit nicer to each others.
  10. I was a vegetarian until I was 12 but then only ate chicken until I was 17. If it weren't for my carnivorous husband I would quite happily go back to be a vegetarian.
  11. I am shit scared of clowns.
My questions from Mel:

  1. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose? South Wales, by the sea. Mr D and I keep looking at houses and jobs there but the idea of actually making the move is a bit too big at the moment. I would hate to be that far away from my mum and our friends.
  2. What do you do to relax? Knit, watch a film, have a cuddle with a cat or a husband or if I'm feeling a bit sdkg;slkg then I've taken to going and sitting in my garden for ten minutes.
  3. What are your desert island essentials? A book, knitting needles, a giant ball of yarn, Figs & Rouge Cherry Vanilla Balm and my hairy husband.
  4. What is your most listened to song on Last.FM (If you don't have it answer from memory!) I haven't used Last.FM for years but my most listened to song at the minute is probably 212 by Azealia Banks, I love it!
  5. What meal would be your last? A really good chicken katsu curry.
  6. Who are the special people in your life? My husband, my mum and my friends. I have a lot of very special people in my life and I am incredibly lucky.
  7. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years? Hopefully with my business plan in successful action, still very happily married but with the addition of a child and living in a house with a bigger garden. Maybe by the sea!
  8. What are your weaknesses? Cats, baked goods and big, hairy men.
  9. Name your favourite places in the city you live in. Hm...that's a hard one! Is it wrong that all the places that spring to mind are either pubs or tea shops?!
  10. What is your preferred method of travelling? For every day, car but for travelling further away it's a ferry.
  11. Is there anything you would like to learn to do? I'm already learning it at college! I started a course in nail technology and make-up artistry on Monday :)

My questions for the tagged bloggers to answer:

  1. What is your ultimate comfort food?
  2. If you could do any job in the world what would it be?
  3. What one skill do you wish you had?
  4. Actual book or e-reader?
  5. What is your proudest achievement?
  6. Are you where you thought you would be 5 years ago?
